General
The insulation piercing connector is mainly composed of a reinforced shell, piercing blade, sealing pad, waterproof silicone grease, high-strength bolt, torque nut, and cable terminalcap.
When branching or connecting cables, insert the cable branch line terminal into the wa- terproof terminal cap, determine the position of the main line branch, use a socket wrench to tighten the torque nut on the line clamp. During this process, the blade will pierce thecable insulation layer upon contact, making contact with the conductor.
The sealing gasketpresses around the pierced position of the cable, causing the silicone grease inside the shell to overflow. When the torque reaches the set value, the nut torque mechanism disengages, connecting the main line and the branch line. The waterproof performance and electrical
effect meet the standard requirements.
Features
Electrical Performance: The current-carrying capacity of the connector is greater than the maximum designed branch line current-carrying capacity, with a DC resistance ratio less than 2.5 times.Mechanical Performance: The connector remains undamaged under the tensile strength of the conductor. The gripping force of the connector is greater than 1/10 of the conductor's tensile strength, in accordance with the GB/T9327-1988 standard.
Temperature Rise Performance: Under high current conditions, the temperature rise of the connector is lower than that of the connected conductor.
Thermal Cycling Performance: With a current overload of 100A/mm at a rate of 200 times per second, the change in contact resistance is less than 5%, complying with the GB2317- 2000 standard.
Waterproof Performance: The installed connector is submerged in water at a depth of 30cm and subjected to a 6kV voltage for 1 minute without breakdown. (Note: For non-waterproof designed connectors, apply 4kV/1min in air pressure).
Corrosion Resistance: Subjected to 3 cycles of 14 days in a sulfur dioxide and salt spray environment.
Environmental Aging Performance: Exposed to ultraviolet light, dryness, and humidity for six weeks with temperature changes and thermal shocks, meeting the specified criteria.
Fire Resistance: The insulation material of the connector passes the hot wire test, achieving a V-0 level of fire resistance for the shell.
Note: (only forfireproofproduct).
